Event: Tropical Storm Watch issued for Martinique, Dominica, and Guadeloupe
The National Hurricane Center advises that Potential Tropical Cyclone Six is headed towards the Eastern Caribbean. Maximum sustained winds are currently near 35 mph and may strengthen as the disturbance proceeds. The disturbance is expected to become a Tropical Storm tonight. Martinique, Dominica, and Guadeloupe have been placed under a Tropical Storm Watch, and tropical storm conditions are possible for Martinique, Dominica, and Guadeloupe tonight.
The southern Leeward Islands can expect thunderstorms and showers accompanied by gusty winds. Rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are possible, with isolated amounts of 6 inches. Everyone in Martinique, Dominica, and Guadeloupe is encouraged to remain vigilant and follow the directives issued by their governments.
