The U.S. Embassy in Bridgetown is open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday except on local and U.S. holidays.
Individuals applying in person for a visitor’s visas (non-immigrant visas) at the Consular Section must have a scheduled appointment.
Please be aware that there is extremely limited standing and sitting space available for the public outside the Embassy to wait for their scheduled appointment.
Only visa applicants with scheduled appointments and parents of minor children will be allowed onto Embassy grounds and into the Consular Section waiting room. Those who are simply accompanying applicants and do not have their own individual appointment will be denied entry into the Embassy and will be without a public waiting area.
Arriving early for your visa appointment does not mean faster service. We do not operate on a “first come, first served” basis; instead, each visa applicant has a scheduled appointment time to allow for time and space constraints within the Embassy. Therefore, visa applicants will be allowed entry into the Embassy no more than 15 minutes prior to their scheduled appointment. If you arrive earlier than 15 minutes before your appointment time, you will be asked to leave and return closer to your appointment time.
Applicants should not bring electronics with them for their appointments if possible. Mobile phones, laptops, or tablets are not allowed into the Consular Section. All applicants must turn off their cell phones and go through security screening before entering the Embassy, similar to entering an airport. If an applicant must bring a mobile phone, then it must be checked with Embassy security personnel and retrieved upon departing the Embassy. Embassy security personnel will not secure items larger than a mobile phone. In order to speed up security checks and reduce time spent in lines, applicants should not bring suitcases, large bags, backpacks, or any other large or bulky objects, as there is no storage space available at the Embassy and these items will not be allowed into the Consular Section.
Visitor Parking
Parking spaces are located on the left, as soon as you enter the Wildey Business Park. Embassy visitors and visa applicants may not park in any of the other lots in the Wildey Business Park as those spaces are reserved for the use of other organizations and businesses.
Taxi Services
There are taxis available for those who require taxi services.
If you need reasonable accommodation for your appointment, we encourage you to request your accommodation immediately once you schedule your appointment. We make every effort to provide accommodations to persons with disabilities and medical conditions. Reasonable accommodations vary, depending on the situation and the person’s needs.
Examples of accommodations include, but are not limited to:
If you are unable to provide fingerprints because of a medical condition, including birth defects, physical deformities, skin conditions, you may qualify for a fingerprint waiver for certain fingers.
The waiting room of the Consular Section and its restroom is wheelchair-accessible.
