United States Embassy Continues its Support of Nature Fun Ranch

Public Affairs Officer, James Rodriguez presents Corey Layne, with his International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) certificate.

At a visit to the Nature Fun Ranch in Bruce Vale, St. Andrew, Public Affairs Officer James Rodriguez donated office equipment to assist the Ranch in its administrative functions. The Nature Fun Ranch is a community youth group founded by Corey Lane, which uses agriculture, adventure, equestrian and other activities to bring about and maintain positive change in the island’s youth and in so doing helping them to reach their full potential.

The Public Affairs Officer noted that the United States is committed to organizations like the Nature Fun Ranch which engages with a key demographic, at-risk youth, and help reduce youth involvement in crime and violence in target communities.

At present, the Nature Fun Ranch works with over 100 youth and their parents with most of these children coming from Barbados’ lower socio-economic backgrounds. The Embassy is pleased to continue in its longstanding partnership with the Ranch in an effort to address crime among youth.
