Frances Herrera is a career member of the Foreign Service. During her tenure as a Foreign Service Officer, she has served in assignments in Iraq, Mexico, Kuwait, Germany, and Miami, most recently as the Management Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Paramaribo, Suriname.

Prior to joining the Foreign Service, Mrs. Herrera worked for the Miami-Dade School system and as a Marketing Assistant to the Vice President of Marketing at the Augusta Chamber of Commerce. Mrs. Herrera also honorably served nine years in the U.S. Army with assignments in California, Georgia, and Panama. Mrs. Herrera received an Associates in Applied Sciences from Georgia Military College. She and her husband have four children, one stepson, and she speaks Spanish and German.
