U.S. Ambassador Taglialatela’s Call with St. Lucia Prime Minister Chastanet

On May 27, U.S. Ambassador Linda Taglialatela spoke by phone with St. Lucia Prime Minister Allen Chastanet to discuss the COVID-19 pandemic response and preparations for the upcoming hurricane season.  The Ambassador thanked the Prime Minister for his government’s support for the repatriation of U.S. citizens from St. Lucia during the pandemic.  They discussed healthcare protocols and economic recovery plans, including the planned Partnership Opportunity Delegation with Taiwan to advance medical care and technology in St. Lucia.  The Ambassador and Prime Minister agreed to stay in close contact during the hurricane season and assured one another of cooperation to protect lives and ensure citizen safety in an emergency.
