On May 27, U.S. Ambassador Linda Taglialatela spoke by phone with Dominica Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit to discuss Dominica’s COVID-19 response and hurricane preparedness.  The Ambassador thanked the Prime Minister for his government’s support for the repatriation of U.S. citizens from Dominica during the pandemic.  They discussed the testing kits and medical equipment made available through U.S. funding to the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA), the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF).  They reviewed additional testing needs and the unique challenges the pandemic poses for emergency response, reflecting on U.S.-Dominican partnership in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria.  They agreed to stay in close communication during the upcoming hurricane season.
