Travel Advisory Update for the French West Indies – U.S. Embassy Bridgetown, Barbados  (October 26, 2021)

 

Location:  The French West Indies, which includes the islands of Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Saint Martin, and Saint Barthélemy.

 

Event:  The Department of State has lowered the Travel Advisory Level for the French West Indies, which includes the islands of Guadeloupe, Martinique, French Saint Martin, and Saint Barthélemy, to a Level 3 – Reconsider Travel due to health and safety measures and COVID-related conditions.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has issued a Level 4 Travel Health Notice for Guadeloupe and Martinique due to COVID-19, indicating a very high level of COVID-19.  CDC has issued a Level 3 Travel Health Notice for French Saint Martin, indicating a high level of COVID-19.  CDC has issued a Level 1 Travel Health Notice for Saint Barthélemy due to COVID-19, indicating a low level of COVID-19.

 

Your risk of contracting COVID-19 and developing severe symptoms may be lower if you are fully vaccinated with an FDA authorized vaccine.

 

Before planning any international travel, please review the CDC’s specific recommendations for vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers to Guadeloupe, Martinique, Saint Martin, and Saint Barthélemy.
