The U.S. Embassy in Bridgetown is pleased to announce the delivery of nearly 4,800 pediatric doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines on Friday, July 8. These highly effective, life-saving vaccines can be used for children ages 5-11. This donation is in addition to the 35,100 vaccines already provided to Saint Vincent and the Grenadines by the United States and more than 70,000 vaccines donated through the COVAX facility, which the United States supports with US$4 billion in financial commitments. Last year, the United States also supported Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in its fight against COVID-19 through bilateral donation of vaccine doses and the donation of two field hospitals valued at over US$1.3 million. Additionally, through USAID, the United States undertook a US$4.7 million response effort to support Saint Vincent in responding to the effects of the La Soufriere volcano eruption. The United States is committed to leading the global COVID-19 response and will continue to support the health and wellbeing of the Vincentian people. We are proud to work with Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to end this pandemic and return to health and prosperity.
