The U.S. Embassy to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean is pleased to announce the delivery of nearly 4,800 pediatric doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to Saint Lucia on Wednesday, August 3.
These highly effective, life-saving vaccines can be used for children ages 5-11. This donation is in addition to the 52,650 vaccines already provided to Saint Lucia by the United States and more than 115,000 vaccines donated through the COVAX facility, which the United States supports with US$4 billion in financial commitments.
Last year, through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the United States also supported Saint Lucia’s fight against COVID-19 through the donation of a field hospital and utility vehicles valued at over US$650,000.
The United States is committed to leading the global COVID-19 response and will continue to support the health and wellbeing of the Saint Lucian people. We are proud to work with Saint Lucia to end this pandemic and return to health and prosperity.
