Event: Tropical Storm Watch issued for Antigua and Barbuda, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Montserrat
The National Hurricane Center advises that Potential Tropical Cyclone Seven is headed towards the Eastern Caribbean. Maximum sustained winds are currently near 35 mph and gradual strengthening is forecast during the next couple days. The disturbance is expected to become a Tropical Storm by Saturday. Antigua and Barbuda, St. Kitts and Nevis, and Montserrat have been placed under a Tropical Storm Watch, and tropical storm conditions are possible on Saturday night and Sunday.
Interests elsewhere in the Leeward Islands, including the British Virgin Islands, should monitor the progress of this system. Tropical Storm Watches will likely be issued for these areas later today or tonight. Everyone in the storm’s path is encouraged to remain vigilant and follow the directives issued by their governments.
