Maritime Asset Engineering Officer Conference

In the photo, United States Coast Guard members assigned to U.S. Southern Command’s Technical Assist Field Team (TAFT) and members of the coastal forces from Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Grenada, St. Kits and Nevis, and St. Vincent exchange maritime engineering best practices.

Recently, the U.S. Embassy, through its Military Liaison Office, hosted a professional exchange on maritime asset engineering and maintenance with Eastern Caribbean police and military forces. The workshop was held in Miami, Florida, and discussions centered around maintenance, logistics, and procurement systems that support maritime operational readiness.

This workshop was part of the Caribbean Basin Security Initiative (CBSI), and it brought together Coast Guard members from the various EC countries where they exchanged best practices for small boat sustainment plans, equipment and supply management, and training and infrastructure in support of sustainment and joint operations.
