The Fulbright LASPAU Faculty Development Program

U.S. Embassy, Bridgetown is pleased to announce the application opening of the (LASPAU) Fulbright Faculty Development Program. Applications are now open and will close on Friday May 1, 2020 at 11:59 p.m.

The Fulbright Faculty Development Program awards scholarships to persons who teach at tertiary level institutions in Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean.

Application requirements

Standardized Testing

Most American graduate programs require Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores from applicants. For information regarding examination content and testing dates please visit the GRE website.

Prospective Fulbright scholars who wish to pursue a Master of Business Administration must take the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT). For further information please visit the GMAT website.

Accreditation

Fulbright Scholars must attend accredited institutions. Please consult the Database of Accredited Post Secondary American Institutions and Programs.

Foreign Residency Requirement

Fulbright Scholars are subject to the two-year home-country foreign residency requirement.  This rule mandates that upon completion of their studies all Fulbright Scholars must return to their home country for two years.  Scholars within the two-year period are not prohibited from traveling to the United States, but may be ineligible for certain employment-based or family-based visas until the foreign residency requirement is satisfied.
