COVID-19 Information: Dominica

Country-Specific Information:   

  • Dominica has recorded 14,852 confirmed cases of COVID-19 within its borders.  
  • The wearing of masks is mandatory in all public spaces.  
  • Restaurants are open for dining.  
  • Consumption of alcohol in public is prohibited. Bars are to open only for purchase and pick-up and nightclubs are closed. 

COVID-19 Testing 

  • Are PCR and/or antigen tests available for U.S. citizens in Dominica? Yes 
  • If so, are test results reliably available within one calendar day? Yes 
  • To obtain a COVID-19 test in Dominica, please contact the lab at +1-767-611-3905 at least two weeks in advance to schedule an appointment. Appointment times are 8-11am. The cost of testing is $100 EC / approx. $40 USD. 
  • If you are staying at a “Safe in Nature-Certified” property, your accommodation can also help arrange testing for you. 
  • Test results may be delivered via email, WhatsApp message or a physical copy from the lab.

Humanitarian exemptions to this order will be granted on an extremely limited basis and will only be considered when the country of departure lacks adequate COVID-19 testing capacity.  To submit information in support of an exemption, email  BridgetownACS@state.gov. 

COVID-19 Vaccine Information: 

  • Has the government of Dominica approved a COVID-19 vaccine for use? Yes 
  • Are vaccines available in Dominica for U.S. citizens to receive? Yes 
  • Which vaccines are available in Dominica? AstraZeneca/Covishield and Pfizer/BioNTech 
  • The vaccine is currently being rolled out in phases by priority groups.  Persons can pre-register for the vaccine at http://vaccineregistration.dominica.gov.dm/   
  • Visit the FDA’s website to learn more about FDA-approved vaccines in the United States.  
  • The United States Government does not plan to provide COVID-19 vaccinations to private U.S. citizens overseas. Please follow host country developments and guidelines for COVID-19 vaccination. 

Entry and Exit Requirements:  

  • Are U.S. citizens permitted to enter? Yes  
  • Current travel protocols for fully vaccinated and unvaccinated travelers are available at: https://discoverdominica.com/travel-advisory-for-dominica 
  • All travelers must:  
  • Upload a negative PCR test result taken within 24-72 hours prior to arrival 
  • Submit a health questionnaire online at least 24 hours prior to arrival at http://domcovid19.dominica.gov.dm/ 
  • Show the notification of clearance to travel 
  • Fully vaccinated travelers must upload their COVID-19 vaccination certificate or card. 
  • Pay for antigen test online – XCD$100
  • Is a negative COVID-19 test (PCR and/or serology) required for entry? Yes 
  • Effective April 4, 2022, all vaccinated travelers are free to enter Dominica by land and sea without COVID-19 testing. 
  • Unvaccinated travellers with a negative pre-arrival PCR or Rapid Antigen COVID test result will no longer be required to undergo on-arrival testing or quarantine.
  • Are health screening procedures in place at airports and other ports of entry? Yes 
  • Travelers will be required to sanitize their hands at sanitization stations as directed, be required to undergo a health assessment to include a temperature check and provide confirmation of the health questionnaire and negative PCR test results. 
  • All travelers must submit to scheduled and unscheduled checks by medical professionals, which may be in person or via telephone. 
  • All travelers must present their notification of health clearance to travel and negative PCR test results upon arrival. 
  • Vaccinated travelers must also present their vaccination certificate upon arrival.

  • Public transportation is restricted to 3 individuals per row. 

Fines for Non-Compliance:  

  • Dominican nationals and non-nationals who fail to adhere to mandatory quarantine orders or emergency COVID-19 directives are subject to a penalty of EC $5,000. All arrivals to Dominica who provide false information on the health questionnaire are subject to a penalty of EC $1,000- or three-months imprisonment.
